Taggenbrunn as a leading culinary and event destination in the Alpe-Adria region
Taggenbrunn, Austria, 5. 12. 2025
This
year, Taggenbrunn has further strengthened its position as a recognised
culinary destination and as an ideal event location in the Alpe–Adria region.
Numerous successfully executed events, an expanded range of culinary
experiences and nature-based activities, new strategic partnerships, and the
first professional accolades – including two Falstaff forks and a
Gault&Millau toque – have marked a year of significant milestones. All of
this has further reinforced Jezeršek Catering’s standing as an important
international provider of high-end catering services on the Austrian market.
From assuming operational management to a clear strategic direction
After
a successful start to the partnership in May 2024, when Jezeršek Catering – at
the initiative of the Riedl family – assumed the management of the restaurant,
hotel and café, Taggenbrunn entered a period of clearly directed development in
2025. In the months that followed, Taggenbrunn established itself as a notable
culinary destination and a venue for high-profile events in the Alpe–Adria
region.
The
growth and increasing visibility of Taggenbrunn under Jezeršek’s management
have also significantly enhanced the international profile of Jezeršek
Catering, which throughout the year delivered top-tier catering services at
numerous prestigious sports and business events in Austria and across Europe.
Website redesign and the first professional accolades
One
of the key steps in Taggenbrunn’s development in 2025 was the complete
redesign of its website, www.taggenbrunn.at – a renewed digital platform that more clearly reflects the essence of the
destination and meets the expectations of today’s visitors.
The
positive feedback from guests confirms that the destination is moving in the
right direction: rising visitor numbers, an expanded range of experiences and
increasing public interest are now complemented by the first official
recognitions.
In
March, the Castle Restaurant Taggenbrunn received two forks from the
renowned Falstaff culinary guide, an important recognition of the excellence
of its cuisine. In the same guide, the terrace of the Wine Bar & Castle Café
Taggenbrunn was ranked among the most beautiful and enjoyable terraces in
Carinthia. In November, the Castle Restaurant Taggenbrunn earned yet
another distinction – a Gault&Millau toque, further confirming the
high level of cuisine achieved under the leadership of the Jezeršek team. »These
are highly important awards that affirm our ambitious vision and the high
standards of the culinary experience at Taggenbrunn. They also serve as a
strong motivation for the further development of the destination and for our
team, which contributes to the Taggenbrunn story every day with its knowledge
and dedication. «, explains Martin Jezeršek, Director of Jezeršek
Catering.
The New Horizon event as the foundation of Taggenbrunn’s new identity
In
April, Taggenbrunn became the stage for one of the region’s most high-profile
business and culinary events – The New Horizon, dedicated to marking new
beginnings. Taking place less than a year after the estate came under the
operational management of Jezeršek Catering, the event was conceived as a way
to introduce a new chapter and clearly signal the direction in which the destination
is evolving. The evening, which went far beyond the framework of a traditional event,
welcomed more than 500 guests, including many well-known figures. Through
contemporary culinary formats such as Gourmet Catwalk, Table of
Flavours, and kulinART, the programme demonstrated that cuisine can
transcend a meal to become an experience, an art form, and a medium for
storytelling. It is precisely this approach that is increasingly shaping the
identity of Taggenbrunn – a place where gastronomy, culture, and contemporary
creativity intertwine.
Unforgettable culinary experiences for every taste
Jezeršek
Catering brings its vision of boutique, sustainable cuisine — rooted in local
ingredients, seasonality and respect for the environment — to life at
Taggenbrunn. Visitors can choose from a range of curated culinary
experiences, from brunch and a five-course dinner on an intimate panoramic
terrace to a picnic set among the vineyards. Each experience is designed to
offer guests an authentic connection to the cuisine, the landscape and the
character of the estate. For those seeking a more active visit, e-bikes are
available to explore the surrounding trails. The offering naturally evolves
with the seasons, while new experiences are thoughtfully crafted for the winter
and festive period.
Ennstal-Classic and Alpe-Adria Wine Festival & Clubbing
Taggenbrunn
also hosted the prestigious Ennstal-Classic this year – one of Europe’s
most renowned vintage car rallies. On the first day, participants enjoyed a
dinner in the style of contemporary Alpe–Adria cuisine at the Castle
Restaurant, while in the following days Jezeršek Catering accompanied the rally
with bespoke culinary services at selected locations across Austria. Throughout
the year, the company also successfully delivered catering for numerous
sporting events, including Kärntner Lauf, the ATP 125 Bad Waltersdorftennis tournament and several matches of the UEFA Champions League(catering for SK Sturm Graz and FC Red Bull Salzburg). Jezeršek was also
involved in various high-profile corporate events, among which the organisation
of Sporthilfe stands out.
The
autumn season was marked by the debut of the Alpe–Adria Wine Festival &
Clubbing. With more than 600 attendees, the event represents the largest
festival held at the Taggenbrunn estate under the direction of Jezeršek
Catering. A total of 32 winemakers from Carinthia, Slovenia, Italy and other
Austrian regions showcased their wines, joined by a selection of additional
exhibitors. The programme featured a professional masterclass, blind wine
tasting, a Wine 360° experience, a tuna-cutting ritual and exclusive tastings,
all accompanied by the energetic performance of Emely Myles and DJ Rinabro. The
festival received an outstanding response and has, from its very first edition,
established itself as the beginning of a new tradition that will continue to
grow in 2026.
Magical December at Taggenbrunn
The
festive month of December at Taggenbrunn will come to life with a carefully
curated programme: from Sunday brunches to the New Year’s Eve dinner and a
special New Year’s brunch, which this year can for the first time be combined
with an overnight stay at the boutique Hotel Taggenbrunn****. The entire
December experience is complemented by a selection of gift vouchers for those
wishing to give the gift of an authentic culinary experience or a moment of
indulgence in a castle setting.
The
winter months at Taggenbrunn will also be lively and diverse – from special ski
packages to new culinary experiences designed to offer a truly unique winter
escape.
